Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and thrive. EOAC Head Start and Early Head Start provide free high-quality early learning while partnering with families to build strong foundations for school, family stability, and future opportunity.
Starting Strong at Every Age
Early Head Start serves families with infants and toddlers up to age 3. The program focuses on nurturing care and early learning during the most critical years of brain development.
Head Start Preschool serves children ages 3–5, preparing them for kindergarten through a combination of education, health services, and family support.
Together, these programs ensure children are supported from birth through their first day of school and that parents have the resources they need to succeed, too.

Why It Matters
Children who attend Head Start are better prepared for kindergarten and more likely to succeed in later grades. Just as importantly, families find a network of support and encouragement along the way.
Who Can Apply
Families with children from birth to age 5 may apply for EOAC Head Start services.
Services are provided at no cost to eligible families in McLennan and Falls Counties.
Families may qualify if they:
- Meet federal income guidelines
- Receive TANF, SNAP, or SSI
- Are expereincing homelessness OR
- Have a child in foster care
