EOAC is grateful to the Office of Head Start for awarding our Head Start program a Supplemental Nutrition Grant that will strengthen how we support the health and nutrition of the children and families we serve.

A significant portion of this investment will support major improvements to a Head Start site kitchen, creating the capacity needed to prepare and serve more fresh foods onsite. These improvements will help create a stronger food service environment and expand opportunities to provide nutritious meals to young children during an important stage of their growth and development.

The grant will also help EOAC enhance nutrition-focused programming, giving children and families additional opportunities to learn about healthy foods, nutrition, and habits that can support lifelong well-being.

Head Start has always been about much more than preparing children academically. Its whole-child approach recognizes that children learn best when their educational, developmental, health, and nutritional needs are supported together.

We are thankful to the Office of Head Start for this investment and for the opportunity to strengthen the resources available to our Head Start children and families.

Investments like these help us create healthier beginnings, stronger families, and greater opportunities for children to thrive.
