The EOAC Employee-Funded Scholarship was created to extend the mission of the Economic Opportunities Advancement Corporation (EOAC) by investing in the educational and professional growth of individuals and families who have benefited from EOAC programs.
This employee-led initiative allows staff to make voluntary payroll contributions that directly support scholarships for qualifying applicants pursuing higher education, technical training, or certification programs.
The scholarship is one more way EOAC employees put Moving Families Forward into action. Investing directly in education, opportunity, and the future of families connected to our work.
Funding Source
The scholarship is funded entirely through voluntary contributions from EOAC employees.
- Employee donations are collected through payroll deduction and placed into a restricted account managed by the EOAC Finance Department.
- Funds are distributed based on availability; awards are not guaranteed annually.
- EOAC reserves the right to adjust award cycles or amounts depending on available funds.
Who Can Apply
Be a current or former recipient of EOAC services
Reside within EOAC’s nine-county service area
Be accepted or enrolled in an accredited program
Demonstrate financial need and a clear educational or career goal
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a completed EOAC Employee-Funded Scholarship Application including:

- Proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an eligible program.
- A personal statement (500 words or fewer) describing (1) how EOAC programs and services have impacted the applicant’s journey and (2) how the scholarship will help achieve educational or career goals.
- Must demonstrate community service with one letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader.
Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
Selection Process

- The EOAC Employee-Funded Scholarship Committee will review applications and recommend award recipients.
- The committee will include at least three EOAC staff members and may include EOAC Board members.
- Committee members must recuse themselves from reviewing or voting on applications where a personal relationship exists.
