When Karicia Parker, a single mother of three, joined EOAC’s EmpowerU program, she was determined to build a better future for her family. What she didn’t realize was how her passion for food would become the foundation for her success.
Through hard work and persistence, Karicia earned her Culinary Arts degree from Texas State Technical College (TSTC) — an incredible achievement that opened new doors for her. Her talent quickly stood out, earning her third place at the SkillsUSA State Competition, a recognition that celebrated not only her skill but her dedication to excellence.
Today, Karicia uses her culinary talents to serve seniors in her community with care and compassion, turning every meal into an act of service. But she’s not stopping there. Karicia is already dreaming ahead — planning to launch her own food truck and one day provide school meals that nourish the next generation.
